J, you Jailbreaking 5.0.1?

Why I have an iPhone 3G and not 3GS?

Here’s a question I get asked a lot on YouTube. Most of you know that are close to me know I have a jailbroken/unlocked iPhone 3G running T-Mobile. And therefore I have the iPhone 3G and not the 3GS. I don’t want to give up T-Mobile and switch over to AT&T. I love T-Mobile’s rates and I get great service where I’m located. I was with AT&T before T-Mobile and didn’t like their service. I don’t want to switch to AT&T just so that I can pay $199 or $299 for the iPhone 3GS and heck no am I paying more than that $300 on a phone. Call me cheap if you want I really don’t care. Yes I love technology but I can live without built-in video, a compass, voice control, and more speed. I’m doing just fine running edge on my iPhone 3G, not like I really have a choice being that T-Mobile doesn’t offer 3G for iPhone’s yet. By the way…What are they waiting for. :P

No, I won’t be making a HowTo video on jailbreaking or unlocking your iPhone or iPod. I might make tutorials on this website about certain jailbroken mods and other things like that I find useful or but nothing that really shows you on how to jailbreak/unlock your device. There are many videos on YouTube that can show you how to do that. I’m not responsible for any actions you do to your device.

How I got my iPhone 3G… Well let me start how I owned an iPhone in the first place. Of course being with T-Mobile I had a 2008 Brown SidekickLX. Most of my coworkers own the iPhone. When the iPhone 3G came out, a coworker in which I will call “A” gave me his iPhone 2G when he upgraded to the iPhone 3G. I then booked a Genius bar appointment and was able to get a refreshed replacement iPhone, not refurbished iPhone. A year after when the iPhone 3GS came out. Another coworker of mine in which I will call “B” sold me his iPhone 3G when he upgraded to the iPhone 3GS. I once again, got a refreshed replacement iPhone 3G, not refurbished. I then gave my iPhone 2G to my best friend which is still in mint condition.

Now you’re probably wondering… So J, will you be getting a refreshed iPhone 3GS when another coworker upgrades to the iPhone 4th generation? And if the iPhone moves to Verizon would you be willing to transfer from T-Mobile to Verizon? Honestly, I have not yet decide that and will probably figure it out when the time comes :)
